Using a Tablet with Your Eyes

People have always wanted to play and use games/devices with there eyes to make it easier on them. Eye Tribe successfully created the technology to allow you to control your tablet, play flight simulator, and even slice fruits in Fruit Ninja only with your eye movements. It’s basically taking the common eye-tracking technology and combining it with a front-facing camera plus some serious computer-vision algorithm to make it work.

Personal 3D Printer

Form 1 is a 3D printer that can be in your house for around $3,000. 3D printing is the technology that could forge your digital design into a solid real-life product. It’s nothing new for the advanced mechanical industry, but a personal 3D printer is definitely a great idea. Everybody can create their own physical product based on their own design, and no approval needed from any manufacturer.

Google Sites

In Mrs. Hunt’s class we have started to make websites/web quests that are covering major wars in American history. We needed something to make are websites from and this gives templates that allow for easy access. We can choose template types that fit what we are looking for. So what me and group were given was the subject of The Cold War. Using Google sites we were able to create websites that suited the criteria for the projects and save time because we did not have to start from complete scratch.

Google Hangouts

Google hangouts is great for a work environment or just for social use among co-works and friends. This app can be used on smart devices and through browsers on computers. This allows for conversations about projects a team could be working on continue when group members are not present or working on separate parts of a project. In Mrs. Taylor’s class we have been using Google Classroom to give feedback on papers that we have shared with each other over google drive. If we have any problems we can message her through this to get a quick response even if were not in school.

Sony New SD Card

On February 23, 2017 Sony announced a new line of SD cards called SF-G SD cards that will be a step in technology. These new cards will be pushing the performance of Ultra High Speed II (UHS-II) specification which is the most up to date SD card. They would be setting a new standard by being able to write and download 300MB/s. Writing is how fast a SD card can upload and reading is how fast it can download. This a huge improvement because most SD cards can only read or write at 300MB/s. These SD cards will be coming out in  32Gb, 64GB, and 128GB which shows that Sony is looking for quality over quantity because they will not be using 256Gb or 512GB.  

Microsoft Surface Pro 4

 The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has come from a strong line up of laptop/tablet hybrids. It being the fourth installment in the pro series means it will have everything the old ones did but much more refined. The system has gained major improvements since last year model by fitting a larger screen with a higher resolution into a slightly slimmer body. The pen and keyboard cover are also improved, and this is also one of the first mobile systems shipped with Intel’s latest processors the i7. Like most things it comes with some downfalls. The battery life is still not good enough for a all day use and one has to buy the Type cover keyboard separately. This is very good for someone who is always having to take there work on the road and needing something to keep up with there pace.
