The power of plants

Researchers have now found ways to modify spinach to detect bombs. These scientist have implanted tiny sensors into the leaves of the plant where photosynthesis happens that detect chemicals found in landmines and other explosives. The way it works is the plant absorbs ground water through its roots and after about 10 minutes, the water is moved up into the part where the sensors are and if there is chemicals detected, the sensors emit signals that can be seen by an infrared camera. This new technology can save the lives of many people in hostile areas.
